Happy New Year! Reca...

We made it! We lived another year and man, what a year it was. Looking back, I’m impressed at all the great people and companies I spoke to and all the traveling I did. Let’s do a quick recap. CES 2011 – Insane. My first CES, and I was prepared, but unprepared (more on this...

PS Vita Size Comparison Dec31

PS Vita Size Compari...

The PS Vita is Sony’s successor to the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and it rights almost all the wrongs that the first handheld had – namely there are now two analog sticks as opposed to one analog “nub,” a 5-inch OLED touchscreen, a rear touchpad, a front/rear camera,...

Sangean WR-11 AM/FM Review Dec29

Sangean WR-11 AM/FM Review

The holidays are now over, so what presents did I get? For Christmas, I received a pair of PJs, a Grid-It gadget organizer, a small jar of Vaseline lip balm and this: a Sangean WR-11 Wooden Cabinet Receiver. I’ve never heard of the brand Sangean, but a quick Google and Wikipedia search says it’s a Taiwanese company that specializes in making radios since 1974 and actually makes radios branded for other big-name companies such as Panasonic, Braun and Siemens. I know what you’re thinking, someone got you a radio? It’s 2011, who listens to radios when Pandora, list.fm, Spotify and a bunch of other apps are out there?...

2012 New Year’s Eve Ball Dec28

2012 New Year’s Eve Ball

Over 1 million people gather in Times Square every year to watch the New Year’s Eve Ball drop. Over one billion people watch the NYC event from their TVs around the globe. Last night, I was invited to get up close and personal with the New Year’s Eve Ball, to see it like regular people can – from underneath it and touch it. I’ve never braved the cold in to stand in Times Square for six-plus hours just to watch the Ball drop. Now that I’ve seen it with my own two eyes, up close, touched it, despite the torrential rain coming down last night, I might not have to. You can read all about the Ball and its...

My 7 favorite gadgets of 2011

In the last year I’ve had more gadgets cross my desk and fly through my door than any other year. I reviewed quite a bunch on DVICE and Ubergizmo, but what are the gadgets that I really use and can’t live without this year? This is a list of my seven favorite (not best, but my favorite) gadgets of 2011. Let’s just cut to the chase. I encourage you to tell me what your favorite gadgets are in the comments below. Mophie Juice Pack Plus: Don’t tell my girlfriend this (although she probably already knows), but I love my iPhone 4 to death. It’s my swiss-army knife. But the iPhone doesn’t last as long as I am...

Visiting Wired Store in Times Square Dec26

Visiting Wired Store...

The other week, I visited the new Wired store in Times Square. I went to the tiny pop-up Wired store last year down near NYU last year and this year’s store is even larger – filled with more gadgets and gear than ever before. I can go on and on about how the store is packed full of...

Happy Holidays Every...

Merry Christmas! I recognize that the world of information and technology doesn’t stop turning simply because it’s a holiday – the show must go on – but it’s important to sit down, take a break, and soak in a little relaxation. Remember what’s important...

Gallery: Mario Nintendo Commemorative Pin Set Dec24

Gallery: Mario Ninte...

It definitely pays to buy Nintendo games and hardware. Nintendo “Club Nintendo” members got this special pack of commemorative 25th Anniversary pins celebrating Super Mario. Last year’s prize was a Mushroom Kingdom figurine that I quite liked more, but hey, a free gift is a...

Welcome to the new Tekunoloji!

Welcome to Tekunoloji (version 2.0). It’s been nearly a year since it launched and we gained a lot of momentum. In over a year’s time, my life’s gone through a transformation – through technology and I can honestly say it will never be the same again. I’ve learned so much from my colleagues, business associates, and from self-motivated passion, that I can truly say (although there are some crappy days) that I love my job. I don’t know where else or what else I would rather do. For those who’ve been following me, you’ll know that I’ve been a prolific writer on in the tech space. I...
